Vietnamese acrobats Giang Brothers head for Italy to set new world record
The Giang Brothers — a Vietnamese acrobat duo best known for their balancing act — departed for Milan on Tuesday night in order to challenge themselves to set a new world record after their two previous Guinness World Records in 2016 and 2018.
Both gymnasts, Giang Quoc Co and Giang Quoc Nghiep, made a post about their trip, which will last until February 7, on their verified Facebook accounts.
The brothers received the invitation to Italy from Guinness World Records.
Nghiep said the trip will be the duo’s last international performance.
The men, 39 and 34 years old, will continue their career with lighter intensity for health protection after many injuries.
In the coming attempt to set a new world record, they will be blindfolded and climb 10 stairs that are only 40 centimeters wide, walk for 10 meters, then descend the stairs while doing a head-to-head balancing act in one minute.
They have practiced the feat for less than two weeks.

Co and Nghiep joined circus troupes when they were four and five years old, respectively, and have been performers since 1999.
In 2018, the Vietnamese brothers set a Guinness World record in Italy by walking up and down 10 steps while blindfolded, completing the act in just 53.97 seconds.
The daredevil gymnast brothers gave a performance that impressed both the judges and the audience at Britain’s Got Talent that same year, finishing in fifth place.
Two years earlier, they set another Guinness World record by climbing 90 steps at Saint Mary’s Cathedral in Girona, Spain in 52 seconds.
